Picnic by the pond

Cotton soft
The blooms of the cherry tree do not last long. This was the last chance to organise a picnic, to admire the blossoming of chrysanthemums or cherry blossoms. Meeting point had to be my place since it's only five minutes to the garden. Sarala aunty came in first with a big jar of 'achar'.  Nobody's as good when it comes to 'achar', she does an amazing job.

Max was happy when I opened a hot case, full of 'momo'. He hardly left couple for the late comer, Dotti. That was the first thing we did in the garden, eat. We spotted near a duck pond from where was the best view of Cherry trees, garden and the bridge although the cherry blossoms had fallen relatively.
We took a stroll around the picturesque and well manicured Japanese garden before we hit for the second lot. Max thinks Mika needs to do some Nepalese dishes including 'momo' his favourite. He was still up for an ice-cream though.
Picnic by the pond literally. Mika, Dotti, Max and Sarala Aunty
It was a fantastic day. Most people were there to take photos of the trees while some were busy taking their own. Click Click. They were taking in hundreds and enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms. We did too.
'Can't you see, I am little busy here?'

Give me a way.
Back to home and later in the evening was fireworks with Dotti. She thinks it is quite the view. Hmm.. I should appreciate too. I could not tell what was the occasion but she did like it. She's gone and we fired up the barbecue. I felt like I could blast of excess, eating that is.
I am noting down this day just so that i dont forget it for next year's Cherry blossom festival. I am planning ahead.
Some more pictures from the garden, Auburn Botanic Garden.

My First Cherry Blossom

Cherry red
I wonder if cherry blossoms the same time in Japan. I have always wanted to go Japan to see cherry blossom. Well, this mini Japanese garden was just as magical to me. Japanese Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) bloom once a year for about two weeks. This is the first week and I am glad I could make it. The entry to the festival is five dollars. If you are resident/local or lucky like me, you get a free entry.

This is my first time to witness something so ‘cherry’, something so spectacle. Auburn Japanese Garden bloomed in pink. It was so pretty, absolutely beautiful. The catch is to go early if you want to get pretty shots. I took just about hundreds. Not really, I left it for next week. I was really overwhelmed by the crowd. Standing under the cherry blossoms on a sunny spring day could be very romantic. Well, it was. Even found people looking for partners. This has to do with the vibe I guess. Being showered by petals was one true remarkable experience and to sit under those trees and enjoy the view, completeness. Wow! Just wow! It was amazing. I loved the pops of pink. Some more on pops:
